A collaboration between GDC staff & chocolate artist Anne Boulley.
Make a beautiful edible chocolate rose for Mother's Day (and one for yourself too!). We'll combine Ecuadorian chocolate and Michigan honey to create a delicious chocolate clay. Then we'll shape them into delicate realistic roses and airbrush them with red, pink or yellow cocoa butter to make them really pop. They taste great eaten petal by petal or place them into some hot milk for the best drinking chocolate ever.

Higher Grounds Learning Lab @ Commongrounds Coop
Coffee and chocolate: a pair like no other. Grocer's Daughter Chocolate and Higher Grounds Coffee bring together our love for both of these magical tastes with a journey of sensory exploration. We'll taste coffee and chocolate paired up by terroir, exploring the similarities and differences that come as a result of sharing the same landscape, weather patterns, and soil.

This class is an introduction to the art of decorative cookies with Danielle Reeber. Topics include familiarization with cookie decorating tools and tipless bags. With the practice of basic outlining, flooding, and decorative piping, you will be on your way to making the cutest cookies around!All materials will be provided and you will get to take home the recipe, a scribe, a sheet of tips and tricks, and 5 to 6 cookies.

Join GDC staff and chocolate artist Anne Boulley to make some stunning geodes filled with luscious caramel, toffee and sugar crystals. Emerald green, blue lapis, red ruby and more colors to choose from with an edible gold to gild the edges. You will learn how to decorate using colored cocoa butter, toffee "crystals" and how to arrange them so they look more realistic. We'll package them up for gift giving!

Our fun and informative tasting classes are back and we can't wait to host you! We'll taste chocolate in all its forms and share with you the fascinating story of our world's favorite treat.
Classes are limited to 6 people and last about 1 - 1.5 hours. If you have a larger group, please email us for a custom class.
A fun, informative way to learn about chocolate for your little ones. Your child will learn how chocolate is grown, what it means to ethically source chocolate, and (everyone's favorite part) make some fun chocolate critters to take home and enjoy!
