Some research suggests that ancient Mayan people made wine from cocoa pulp long before the plant was used to make chocolate. It would certainly be a fun experiment to obtain some cocoa pulp and make wine from it.

Hi Mimi,
I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed meeting you and tasting your incredible chocolates - I've never had better! It became even better when I read the above story and realized what pure goodness these chocolates are as they are made from organics AND help the Ecuadorian people!
We hope to drop by again in July.
Blessings to you, Mimi,
Cindy VerHage

I just visited your wonderful store last weekend and I wish I would have tried one of these! I especially liked the espresso and maya truffles.
I mentioned you in my latest blog entry. Everyone who loves chocolate needs to stop by your store! I appreciate the use of locally-grown ingredients and will definitely be back the next time I'm in the Leelanau area.

I was sent the some Bailey's truffles (along with several other types) for Easter since my family knows I love your chocolates. They are fantastic! Please continue to carry them year round (if you weren't planning that already). Can't wait to try the stout.

New flavor ideas: a very few wineries in Oregon make wine truffles. They are very tasty when done right, which I think you are fully capable of accomplishing. I think your could find some wonderful combinations with MI wineries (Riesling, ports, cherry ports, cherry wine, ice wines, etc.). Just a thought.

I was raised in the carribbean, in Trinidad, dn I just loved eating the pulp right off the bean, actually. It'd be lovely with coconut jelly (the goopy stuff, before it hardens) and it would be LOVELY adapted for a peach style tart, if you could get enough of it. (and managed not to eat it all in the process.)

Cocoa pulp sounds like something I could do some experimenting with on some new dishes. I could see making a tasty vinaigrette to be drizzled over a bed of peppery arugula salad greens with shaved fresh fennel. Wow, I'm off to the kitchen now.... :-)

Hello! I just wanted to say hi and mention how much we enjoyed your chocolates last summer. The picture of your new "Love Me Do Set" just makes my mouth water! Does the Mayan truffle use cinnamon? Dark chocolate, cinnamon and almonds are three of my favorite things... :-) You guys keep up the good work!
